ESO_REVIEWS: The Montauk Chronicles
If you haven't been introduced to the 1970s Long Island conspiracy generally known as The Montauk Project, its probably because, like most conspiracy-oriented tales, it generally lacks a definitive investigation. Sure, Art Bell's Coast to Coast fans aside, the outlandish terror-tales concerning thousands of missing boys along the Long Island coast due to the sinister, extraterrestrial-coordinated experiments in time travel and psychic materialization performed at the now dilapidated one-time Air-Force Base Camp Hero generally wane into the ethers of late night talk radio and conspiracy theory message boards.
But why? The claims in the documentary, The Montauk Chronicles, are seemingly corroborated by the experiments' disparate head-honchos and surviving victims alike, and to with an unnerving nonchalance, to boot…
It is said that the Montauk Project is the continuation of the Philedelphia Experiement, the famous experiment that seemed to successfully teleport a ship to a terrifying degree. The men transported with the ship are said to have been driven mad. The insanity, it has been said, was due to the human consciousness not having an anchor to hold true when this dimensional reality is ripped art, causing the consciousness to be forever free or stability thereafter. Dubbed "AREA 51 of the East", Montauk furthered the elicit, albeit gonverment-backed and alien-allied, human trials in time travel and psychic defense measures.
Through the wavering narrative of documentarian Christopher P. Garetano, and a fictional, yet omnipotent, narrator we are shown a horror-show of images to the already horrible descriptions by those behind the experiments: Figures like Preston Nichols and Alfred Bielek, both riddled with the monstrosities supposedly performed in the name of psionic research and a survivor: Stewart Swerdlow, who is unbelievably at ease expounding on the tragic torture that him and the other "Lost Boys" of Montauk endured.
Though, Preston Nichols is the highlight here: claiming to actually have been one of the top tier researchers of the Time and Psychic research facets, working hand in hand with extraterrestrials who supplied the faction with their technology. He regales in horror about the kidnapping of many Long Island Boys (thousands?) and many of their subsequent deaths due to the horrible torture scenarios unleashed in an effort to break the psychic foundations and personalities of the subjects. The MKULTRA like "Manchurian Candidate" seems to have been the endgame. Though, Nichols makes his guilt ridden involvement in the affairs seem a bit conspicuous. Outside of being one of the lead techs on the experiments, he has since become a famous detractor, publishing a book about his unwillful participation and the seemingly forced repression of his memories during the height of the Montauk ordeal.
But the dastardly deeds illustrated here, to an obnoxious degree giving the dragged out "fangoria" reenactments, seem enough to ruin any man's lingering days thereafter. It is astounding that the claims have not been heard by most.
In any case, outside dusting off those aforementioned Coast to Coast episodes (Esotericana is a strong supporter of both Bell and Nori), the talking heads of the Montauk Chronicles are worth visiting, that is, if you can stomach the reenactments.
Quick Note: Pay attention to the mention of Duncan Cameron and the plan to end the Montauk Experiements involving the materialization, through psychic visualization and alien technology, of a big-foot-like-beast he projected, from his mind, to destroy the base!
